Who We Are: Staff

The Carbon Coalition is a product of its coordinating organizations, steering committee, statement signatories and volunteers.  We also have a few key people who are taking this work forward all day, every day.

Roger Stephenson, Carbon Coalition Director
Roger is Clean Air-Cool Planet's Executive Vice President for Programs and as part of his work at CA-CP is also the project director for the Carbon Coalition. Roger has over 20 years of experience providing public relations expertise and counsel to corporate management, government agencies and non-profit executives regarding internal communications, stakeholder relations, coalition building, strategic public campaigns, grassroots organizing, branding and fundraising strategies.  Roger is an accredited member (APR) of the Public Relations Society of America.

Roger joined CA-CP in 2006 to prepare a global warming education campaign in New Hampshire ahead of the 2008 presidential primary. Prior to a successful 5-year stint as an independent public relations practitioner, Roger was a public relations counselor in the public relations and management consulting firm Jackson, Jackson and Wagner.  From 1995 through 1999 he served as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior and served in the White House Council on Environmental Quality to help manage overall program and policy development for President Clinton’s American Heritage River Initiative.  Before serving in the Clinton administrations Roger was National Field Director for the League of Conservation Voters and later executive director of the LCV Education Fund.

Sara Kaufman, Carbon Coalition Intern
[email protected]
Sara Kaufman is taking time from her studies at Wellesley College, where she is majoring in Studio Art and Neuroscience, to intern for Clean Air-Cool Planet. A New Hampshire native, she will be working on the Local Energy Committee initiative and contribute to Part 2 of the NH Citizens Handbook for Energy Efficiency. She is honored and eager to participate in CA-CP’s fight to eradicate global warming and to learn reproducible organizing skills for her future as an active participant in civil society.
